Qld: Oppn calls for Qld phone-tapping powers after bikie raid

BRISBANE, Feb 22 AAP - Phone tapping powers would give Queensland police a greater
crime busting tool especially in operations such as yesterday's motorcycle gang drug raids,
the opposition says.
Queensland is the only mainland state without laws that mirror federal legislation
allowing law enforcement agencies to tap phones.
A drug ring allegedly run by the Nomads motorcycle gang was busted yesterday after
police raided 50 properties throughout Queensland and northern NSW.
