WinXP update delayed.(Analysis News)

Service Pack 2 for Windows XP, originally planned to ship in the first half of this year, is now not expected until at least July because of its failure to meet Microsoft's testing standards. Since the beginning of this year, Microsoft has repeatedly pledged that SP2 would be released in the first half of the year.

According to a company spokesperson, testing has not been completed and Microsoft continues to make changes to the software based on input from testers. Internally, Microsoft is aiming for release in July, according to a source familiar with the company's plans.
